A Pleasant Walk ~ January 15, 2016

Today was a pretty perfect, mild winter day. Again! I stepped outside with Joanna in tow to survey our 2 acre yard and perhaps get a good picture or two. It seems like nature came alive today, thinking it was spring! The birds......

Tis Tuesday Evening

....and all through the house,

every precious fur baby is sleeping,

Ziva

except for one who wishes she could find a mouse!
 But this tantalizing feather toy
will just have to do!

Dogs Vs. Cats :)

The humorous side of being a pet owner to both a dog, and several cats!

7:00 PM - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 PM - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!

The Cat’s Diary:

Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Fools.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies'. I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage...

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around her feet as she was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously a nit-wit!

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cage, so he is safe - for now... Will keep you posted.

Ha, ha, ha!  So true.....so very true! Wish I could give credit to whoever thought this up, but I cannot find who it belongs to anywhere on the web!

Most Adorable Kittens

The girls all lovin' on the kittens!

Mama cat.

One of the two precious tortie kittens.

Time to wrestle and play games!

What is that bright light?!

Playtime wore them out quick. ☺

Hello, there! Can I come stay with you?

She's Pretty And She Knows It

This is Jessica, or Jess, for short. She's my daughter's long-haired beauty, and I think Jessica secretly thinks of herself as a princess.

Romeo sure has an interest in her. ;) First, he checks out the window to make sure that no danger is lurking.

Then he heads over her way and touches noses with her as if to say, "Hey, good looking!"

As you can see, "the princess" is not overly impressed. Lol! First, she lets out a big yawn. And I do mean BIG! (Oh my, look at those fangs.)

Then she begins to groom herself as if to say, "Tut, tut. I have more important things to tend to!"

*SIGH* Living the life of a princess is hard work!
Romeo has long since left her side because she snubbed his advances! ☺

Every day there is humor to be found with these animal children. Ha, ha!

Happy In The Sun

Checkers likes nothing better than to relax in the sun on the window ledge!
Doesn't he even look like he's smiling?

Ahhh! This is the life!

The Animal Children

Our first addition ~ Checkers

A year and a half later came this orphan ~ Melissa

We were set for several years until the children started clamouring for a puppy
and look who we found ~ Romeo

In spite of our best efforts to refrain from any more pets, this adorable orphan
was literally dropped into our laps ~ Ziva

And these little guys are the babies of our Society Finch pair that my daughter pleaded ever so sweetly, "Could we just let them raise one brood, Mom?" I have to admit, it was the most incredible experience to watch unfold....

I'm pretty sure we're done having animal children!
(But I've heard it said before, "Never say never!")

Crazy Cat

Apparently, my crazy cat Ziva (yes, named after the Ziva of NCIS), is "obsessed" with the overspray of my husband's Obsession cologne on the bathroom rug!

So I quickly pull out my cellphone camera as she sniffs,

and licks,

and rubs,

and twists,

and finally presses her nose right down on the rug!

Who would have thought it? I guess Obsession even works on female cats. What a hysterical moment!
