Vintage Green Love ~ February 10, 2017

I recently came across this picture of a vintage green dining room hutch.

Not anything I would normally consider before seeing the picture!

But now, most definitely, YES!

So......

I did a fun little Google image search,

And just look at all the loveliness and charm I found in this beautiful vintage green.......

Apparently, it's quite popular.

But I am just discovering it!

I may have to see what I can turn into this lovely, vintage green in my home!

Dog Crate Furniture

He gets his bed....

We get a practical end table!

This little hideaway is also a lovely and functional piece of furniture! Oh my goodness, what an excellent idea, and something we have to get for our Little Man. Plenty of air circulation for him, and lots of tabletop space for us!

Lint Brush

When I was growing up, my folks always had a lint brush that was velvet, like the one below. After I married and moved away, I forgot all about such a thing. But as we've acquired pets, I found it impossible to live without one! Thankfully, several years ago, I came across one and the memories came flooding back. I quickly snatched it up, and found another at a garage sale. This has been the absolute best weapon against pet hair in my home! If you don't have a lint brush and you're a pet lover, this is one thing I would highly recommend getting. Not only is it good for clothes, but furniture, small rugs and pet beds, too.

When I was a child, ours was used for the lint on our clothes.

Setting Up The Patio

This morning dawned a bit sunny, mild and breezy.
So I decided to have breakfast out on my
back steps to enjoy the beauty of this day.

As I sat there, the urge to pull out planter boxes,
unwrap the furniture from its tarps, and
hose down the patio began to press upon me.
I thought, "Why not?" I do some of my best
work when I make spontaneous decisions.

Working outdoors has always been somewhat
therapeutic , as well as rewarding for me. I've been
long enough looking at a drab, uninviting patio,
and I like to clear my head of thoughts
that just seem to linger around in my mind.

All in all, I spent a couple of hours taking care
of everything, and I think I'm off to a good start. I feel
better inside, and it looks better outside. Can't
wait for a nicer variety and selection of flowers to
start arriving at the home centers and nurseries.
Then we'll have some color and beauty to
add to our nice little place of retreat!

It's a start....

More pictures to come as I get my flowers planted!
