Mission Accomplished

Earlier today I determined to clean and tidy the basement. It's just a basement, so I try not to go overboard, but since it's used often, I like to feel good about it when I'm down there. I don't enjoy seeing pet fur, spiderwebs, lint and loose bits of kitty litter all over while doing my laundry and such. I also don't want a lot of this stuff being blown about the house when the furnace comes on! Besides changing the furnace filter often, I like to pull the filter out and vacuum it in between changes. This helps out a lot since we have a handful of animal children. ☺ (See my post http://simplymekimberlymarie.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-animal-children.html)

That's better! It was a productive day. I celebrated with a small dish of ice cream out
on the back patio to enjoy this beautiful, sunny afternoon!!

Agenda For Today

Seems deceiving with only ONE thing on the agenda, doesn't it? But I've got my work cut out for me! Opening the windows, tidying up, removing the dust and lint, and vacuuming down there will be about all I want to tackle for today! Well, off I go........   (I know it'll look so much better when I'm done!) ☺

P.S. Having a daily "to do" list like this one (http://simplymekimberlymarie.blogspot.com/2013/04/daily-to-do-list.html) really helps to keep me focused!

Cleaning The Stove Top

I think cleaning out the refrigerator, and cleaning the stove top are two of the biggest put off and dreaded "chores" in the kitchen. So this morning when I still had soapy water left over from breakfast dishes, I decided to tackle cleaning out a few food containers from the fridge. Much to my surprise, I finished in record time and still felt enthusiastic enough to give the stove top a good cleaning, too.

Like lifting and cleaning under the top.

Removing the knobs, burners and drip pans.

Washing it all down with hot, soapy water.

Giving everything a squeaky, clean windex shine.

Putting it all back together ~ look at how it shines!

And I didn't forget to clean the front, too. ☺

Hot, Soapy Water

This morning I awoke with thoughts of some serious spring cleaning in mind.

I'm talking the "get a bucket with hot, soapy water and a bit of bleach" kind of cleaning........

Like washing down the vanities, counter tops, sinks, doors, doorknobs, and last but not least, the toilet bowls.

Soooo.......without further ado,

I'm off to do my cleaning.

And I know I'll feel so much better when it's done!
