Cinnamon Sugar Walnuts

This year, my neighbor and I exchanged kitchen "treat" gifts with one another.

While she gushed over my plate of molasses cookies and toffee bars, I have to say that her cute, simply decorated jar of cinnamon sugar walnuts, were insanely more delicious than my cookies, not to mention addicting. I've eaten nearly the entire jar myself!

Realizing that the jar is almost empty makes me very disappointed. So, I've decided it's a recipe I must have. ☺ After all, there are worse things a person could snack on, right? (Walnuts are actually prostate and breast cancer reducers, and promote heart and brain health, among a few other positive benefits recent studies have revealed. Now, that makes them worth snacking on!

Besides, despite the recipe name, these tasty, toasted nuts are only ever so slightly covered with cinnamon and sugar, and have just a dash of salt, to contrast with the sweet. Oh, my goodness....they're amazing! So amazing that I want to share the recipe with you ~ and I promise, you'll LOVE them, if you're a walnut lover, that is... ☺

My jar is nearly empty! :(

Cinnamon Sugar Walnuts

The warm, toasted cinnamon sugar coating makes these walnuts irresistible. Make sure to bake until the nuts are just toasted – the heat brings out the flavor of the walnuts and cinnamon, filling your kitchen with an incredible smell.

Ingredients:
2 c. walnuts (halved and pieces)
1-2 T. melted butter
2 T. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
pinch of salt

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Line baking tray with foil and spread out walnuts.
3. Pour melted butter over nuts and add cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Toss to coat.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let cool completely before packaging.

Makes 10 servings.
