Soup Warms the Soul - January 2, 2016

It's the perfect evening for a steaming hot bowl of soup!
One that warms you right down to your toes.
So I went to the pantry and grabbed my can of
Progresso Italian-Style Wedding soup.

I've been waiting for just the right kind of day to have it,
and today was that kind of day. ~ smile ~

As you might expect from Progresso, it was perfectly delicious.
I'm glad no one asked to share it with me,
because there was none left to share!

In other news....tomorrow afternoon through Monday
promises to bring several inches of snow our way.

It'll be the first significant snowfall of our winter,
so I can't complain. But I don't have like it!

In anticipation of this, I went out just before dusk and filled all my bird feeders right to the top. The suet log is full of crunchy peanut butter, and my suet cake holders are full, as well.

If there's any day that the birds will be looking for treats to give them warmth and energy, it will be a day like tomorrow. I'll be looking forward to seeing just who all shows up!

Apparently I missed a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers who were at my back suet feeder, because, quite unexpectedly, as I looked out the window, the pair of them flew overhead and into the trees across the street. Maybe tomorrow they'll be back. ☺

Shortly, Dean and I will go to visit our neighbors across the street who so kindly invited us, and the next neighbors over, to join them for light snacks and conversation, and to celebrate this New Year.

Since moving into this wonderful neighborhood, we've felt so blessed and fortunate to have such kind people, who are not only neighbors, but friends.

Wishing you all a delightful evening!
