My Homemade Cake

As you may have seen in my post earlier today, I shared a recipe for cake from scratch.
What a simple, easy recipe it was to use, and what a fun time I actually had making this cake from basic ingredients every kitchen has. Now it's your turn to try. I promise, this really is a winner!

Three pieces of advice I would give based on how I tweaked this recipe. First, SIFT the flour before you even measure it. Then carefully scoop it into the measuring cup with a large spoon so as not to compress it down. Second, hold off on the eggs until the end, and alternate the milk with the flour/baking powder combination instead of waiting to add the milk until last. Lastly, use 2 eggs whites instead of the entire egg. Whip them in a small bowl into stiff peaks, then fold them into the batter at the very end. This makes the batter light and fluffy!

I used a whipped canned frosting since I discovered I was out of powdered sugar! Lol.

Definitely a delicious tasting cake!
