Foolproof Fudge

3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 - 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 1/2 t. vanilla extract

In a microwave safe bowl (or in a pan on the stove top), add the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk.

Microwave on high for about 3 minutes, or until chips are soft and melting. (If using stove top, melt over low heat, then remove from burner.) Stir until smooth

Add vanilla, and nuts if desired. Line an 8x8 baking dish with waxed paper. Pour mixture into dish and spread evenly. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.

Afterwards, pull fudge out of pan by grabbing wax paper edges. Set on a flat surface and cut into squares. Store fudge loosely in an air-tight container at room temperature.
