Bathroom Gadgets

Things that would be great to keep my bathroom neat and organized.........
holder for inside cabinet door
This would be perfect for my daughter since I'm always finding the blow dryer tossed up on the back of the toilet!

tension pole caddy
I have to get one of these. With all of our different shampoos, soaps, body washes, razors, and creams, it's a balancing act when any one of us steps into the shower!

toilet paper holder
This is wonderful! My rack stands on the floor, and is always getting bumped into, or knocked over.
soap holder
Now this is nothing short of ingenious! My biggest pet peeve with bar soap is that it gets all soft and slimy from sitting in a little puddle of water.

sprays and brush organizer
I love this idea. A place for everything hair related.

towel rack
This is so much nicer than having the towels hung on the back of the door where they never really dry. And their wetness is up against the wood of the door. You'd need a bit of wall space and room for this, but it's a very practical solution!

Carbonara ~ Italian Pasta Dish

Despite the fact that I'm half Italian, I'd never eaten or made Carbonara until I was in my mid-30's! The first recipe I tried was Rachel Ray's, and it was certainly "delish" as she would say. Since then, I've tweaked the recipe to make it a few different ways, and my family loves it no matter which way I dish it up. So, here's my latest version of Carbonara:

Begin by sauteing about 1/2 c. chopped onions and a couple cloves of garlic, sliced, in a generous amount of butter in a large, deep frying pan. Add in a nice handful of bacon bits. When the garlic begins to turn lightly golden, add a bit more butter and sprinkle about 1/4 c. flour over the onions and garlic. Stir to coat, and let flour dissolve so it begins to resemble a paste. Add approx. 1 to 1 1/2 c. of milk, and stir with a whisk to incorporate flour paste into milk, allowing it to thicken the milk as it heats up. If cream mixture is too thick, add more milk until cream is loose enough to your liking. Salt and pepper to taste. Put on lowest setting and stir periodically. Then:

Get a pot of spaghetti boiling in salted water, cooking enough for 2-3 people. When al dente, drain in strainer, and pour pasta into frying pan with cream mixture. Then:

Toss thoroughly to coat spaghetti well. Dish up, sprinkle with a generous amount of parmesean cheese and enjoy! This is such a nice change sometimes from the usual pasta and red sauce. But don't just take my word for it, let me know what you think!

Crazy Cat

Apparently, my crazy cat Ziva (yes, named after the Ziva of NCIS), is "obsessed" with the overspray of my husband's Obsession cologne on the bathroom rug!

So I quickly pull out my cellphone camera as she sniffs,

and licks,

and rubs,

and twists,

and finally presses her nose right down on the rug!

Who would have thought it? I guess Obsession even works on female cats. What a hysterical moment!

Welcome ~ Please Come In

Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Practical Organzation

Love this idea! Stored neatly, but very accessible.

Condiments on a lazy susan

Lazy Susan's are a great way to utilize more space on shelves in cabinets, and it's so much easier to see what you have!

Endless Crafting

I love the idea of labeling, especially when it looks as nice as this!

Hmmm, this would be a good idea if all your herbs and spices are in similar types of jars, like here, to utilize the space in the drawer to its fullest.

Tupperware

I love storage containers that stack. There's nothing worse than trying to squeeze containers in here and there, and nothing fits just right!

Drawer organizers are a great way to keep everything visible and easy to grab when you need it.

Now these pull out racks for the pots, pans and their lids are a fabulous idea! I'm always trying to cram mine in, or wrestle them out from the stove drawer which is so frustrating.

I absolutely love these racks for very useful and handy storage on the refrigerator, instead of the mess of papers and silly magnets that end up on it!

Or racks like these would be good for a message center area.
